About us

Volga Linen is a family run British company that sells an exquisite collection of pure linen from Europe and Russia. The collection consists of table linen, bed linen, ready to hang curtains, clothes, a children’s range and accessories. We produce fabric in plain weaves with drawn thread work embroidery, stripes and richly coloured paisleys.

Volga Linen was set up in 1997. Originally our linen was sourced purely from Russia, so the first two years were spent traveling around the country sourcing the best linen manufacturers and then establishing reliable suppliers and quality control. Linen is one of the oldest industries in Russia, and the tradition of drawn thread work embroidery has been passed down through the generations. These traditions are a great inspiration, and combined with our own more contemporary designs we have created a collection of linen that is classically elegant and wonderfully luxurious.

All our products are made from 100% flax, the natural fibre that gives linen its distinct quality and texture. It is a strong fibre which means that linen is incredibly durable and long lasting, making it the perfect fabric for both commercial and private use.

The production of linen is environmentally friendly. Flax needs little in the way of fertilizers and pesticides – far less than other crops. It is a renewable crop with a short growing cycle, and every part of the plant is used for various purposes, meaning little waste.

Volga Linen supplies linen to many hotels around the world. In particular we have worked with the Rocco Forte Hotel Group supplying bed covers, curtains and table linen to a number of their hotels. The Astoria Hotel in St. Petersburg and The Mount Nelson Hotel in Cape Town are amongst some of the world class hotels where Volga Linen can be found.
